The Wii Remote – WiiMote
The Wii remote is the primary controller for the Wii gaming console, and is a vital part of virtually all Wii games.
The Wiimote is far more than an ordinary controller, and from the first glance, you’ll see that the Wiimote is uniquely designed and has features that gamers only dreamed of having prior to this.
The Wiimote is about the size of a small television remote control, and has a traditionally shaped directional pad, and a large A, for action, button as it’s main features.
The D-Pad and the A button (which is used for many major actions like jumping, spinning, and firing guns) are positioned perfectly and the Wiimote feels very natural in your hand.
The Wiimote has a built-in speaker which delivers clear and realistic sounds in perfect time. Just above the speaker button you’ll find the home button (to bring up the home screen on your TV and allow you to adjust settings) and a forward and back button to help with fast navigation of game menus.
On the back of the Wiimote you’ll find the B button, which is used for timed releases on sports games and occasional combos.
All of that, however, are just the details.
The true beauty of the Wiimote is the fact that it is a true motion-sensing controller: you will use the Wiimote in over 50 positions, in all types of games, for every use imaginable.
On some of the Wario microgames you’ll find yourself balancing it on the top of your head, when you’re playing a Zelda game you’ll be using the Wiimote as a crossbow, in Wii Sports, you’ll use it as a realistic-feeling tennis racket.
The adjustable rumble force-feedback only adds to the super-realistic feel, and the reinforced wrist-strap will help you ensure the Wiimote will stay securely in position.
The Wiimote connects to your Wii via Bluetooth connection, and LED display lights on Wii will let you know which devices you have connected at any time.
Two AA batteries are included with the Wiimote, and battery life is quite good and gives you many hours of gaming fun.
The Wiimote functions alone as well as in conjunction with other Wii devices like the Nunchuck controller.
The Wii remote is so much more than a game controller- it is the ultimate motion-sensing controller of the future – and Wii players get to have it today!
