Okami for Wii
Okami tells the ancient epic of the Sun God Amaterasu, who needs your help in the task of restoring a shattered universe .
A legendary evil monster named Orochi has risen from the dead and destroyed virtually everything on earth, and it’s your job as Amaterasu to save the world.
As you play through this visually striking and absolutely massive world ( well over 30 hours of gameplay!), you’ll find yourself in an ever-changing universe populated by intelligent and witty characters.
Amaterasu can fight off enemies and repair the damage they have done by using his control of the elements and his fighting skills. To fight the evil creatures Amaterasu must assume the physical form of a Wolf (Okami in Japanese) - but this is no ordinary wolf! In addition to the ramming ,biting, and diving attacks, which you’ll use the Nunchuk and Wiimote to pull off, the wolf has three types of special weapons.
Reflectors are the mirrors that help you with medium-range attacks, rosaries are weapons for the long-range attacks, and glaives are the slowest but the most powerful of the three weapons types. You can have any two weapons equipped at all times, one of which will serve as your sub-weapon. Some of the weapons can even be charged up, and be more powerful, with the use of gold dust, which you’ll come across in your game travels.
The incredibly fun and useful item which made this game famous is called the Celestial brush, a paintbrush type pointer which is ideally suited to the Wii’s unique controls. The Celestial Brush can be used to make change in virtually every area of the game.
To use Amaterasu’s powers to affect the weather, you’ll paint a sun in the sky, and the sun will rise. You will be able to revive the dead trees and plants by painting a circle around them . You can draw wind to blow down obstacles, paint bombs to blow up your enemies, and much more.
As you progress through the game and unlock new powers, you’ll even use the Celestial brush to solve puzzles. When you begin playing Okami, be prepared- you’ll need plenty of time, because once you dive into this beautifully rendered world, it’s impossible to leave.
